The freezer is an amazing appliance, and it’s not just made for housing store-bought freezer meals and pizzas either. When used to it’s full potential, the freezer can entail the difference between feeing homemade, healthy, affordable meals from ordering take out, again . 3. Nuts. Nuts are expensive, but cheaper when bought in bulk. The only problem is they don’t last forever. Unless of course, you’re smart enough to freeze them.
4. Veggie scraps. You genuinely should keep a suitcase in the freezer for storing veggie scraps at all times. Any hour you chop an onion, peel a carrot, or have any leftover bits and pieces from aromatic veggies add them to the suitcase. Once it’s full, use it to stimulate homemade veggie stock. It’s so much better than the store-bought kind is a great ingredient to have on hand for cooking risottos, sauteing greens and of course, for attaining soup.
5. Cookie dough . Next time you make cookies from scratch, don’t bake them all. We know this sounds like a crazy notion, but trust us.
