Barack Obama Pays Tribute To Anthony Bourdain By Remembering The Meal They Shared On Parts Unknown
The former president took to Twitter to mourn the chef’s apparent suicide and reflect on the memorable meal they shared in Hanoi, Vietnam on season 8 of Bourdain’s award-winning CNN series Parts Unknown.
Sharing a photo of the two enjoying some Bún chả — a traditional Vietnamese dish made up of grilled pork, broth, rice noodles and fresh herbs — Obama recalled the tv host’s passion for food and “its ability to bring us together.”
“Low plastic stool, cheap but delicious noodles, cold Hanoi beer.” This is how I’ll remember Tony. He taught us about food — but more importantly, about its ability to bring us together. To make us a little less afraid of the unknown. We’ll miss him. pic.twitter.com/orEXIaEMZM
