CL rides the cloud for her latest music video, ‘Lifted’
The Baddest Female is back.
That’s right, CL, the South Korean chanteuse and tour de force who made U.S. shores last year with her first single, “Hello Bitches, ” only dropped her latest music video.
This time, instead of a banging beat and fierce dancing with Parris Goebel and crew, she’s run super chill. Like, smoking some herb and chillaxing on a cloud, chill.
The track was produced by YG Entertainment’s own Teddy and co-written by CL herself and … Asher Roth. Yes, the “I Love College” dude himself.
And if you thought you heard the beat before, it’s because you have. The way contains interpolations of Wu-Tang’s 1993 single, “Method Man.”
Method Man himself actually even makes a cute cameo where he and CL have a moment dancing together.
The music video, directed by Dave Meyers( Katy Perry’s “Firework, ” Missy Elliot’s “Lose Control) is an ode to New York City, with backdrops in the meatpacking, Brooklyn Bridge and SoHo with an all-star casting of a who’s who of downtown cool kids like Luka Sabbat.
