The Youthful Jeff Goldblum’s Guide To Aging In Reverse

December 10, 2016

Jeff Goldblum is the epitome of aging gracefully. The actor pretty much looks as he did two decades ago in his “Jurassic Park” days, with just a little added salt and pepper.

GQ called Goldblum the “world’s youngest 63-year-old” as the actor shared his tips for aging “younger.” And with a toddler to run after, the first-time dad shared his tips for feeling as young as you look.

Believe it or not, Goldblum says the first step is not to try too hard to look younger. “When you try to be youthful, it only makes you look older,” Goldblum said.

The actor, who is married to Emilie Livingston, around 30 years his junior, says you won’t find him desperately trying to turn back the clock. No hair dye, no hair plugs, and definitely no going under the knife, he says.

The key to aging gracefully, he shares, is understanding that you’ll ultimately “wither.” Goldblum says his diet is packed with antioxidant-rich fruits, vegetables, lean protein and whole grains while he steers clear of fatty, fried and sugary foods.

“I think when nature changes your face — especially if you live a clean life — your body is designed so it all looks right together,” Goldblum said, adding that he also doesn’t smoke or drink.

But the real secret weapon? His infant son, Charlie Ocean. Goldblum became a father for the first time last year on Independence Day. He told late night TV host Conan O’Brien that he’s a pro at changing diapers, playing with his son and singing to him.

And fatherhood isn’t without its anti-aging perks.

“I find that having a kid makes you feel younger. Whereas otherwise you might be sitting around at any given moment, now you’re not. You gotta get up and walk him around,” Goldblum said. He said baby Charlie is something of a workout partner, Goldblum joked, adding he can do chest presses and work on his obliques with the infant.

“I don’t think I would’ve enjoyed him as much if I’d had him younger. I feel like I’m right on schedule,” Goldblum said.
